Just off the shoreline of Passignano sul Trasimeno (the town Passignano on the shore of lake Trasimeno) is this intriguing sculpture. As I happened upon it, the elements conspired to provide some interesting lighting. So I obliged by snapping a photo.
From the little I’ve been able to piece together on the interwebs, it is a memorial to the test pilots for Ambrosini, the famous Italian aircraft manufacturer (source: here, here, here, and here). In the background to the right of the sculpture can be seen Monte Cetona, a landmark in this area.
