In Defence

This pair of cannons sit on the end of Fort Point, overlooking the entrance to Eyemouth. I wasn’t able to find any information specifically about the cannons but the point on which they’re found was fortified for a brief period during the mid 16th century. I am pretty sure this pair are not from that time as I’m not sure their wooden bases would have survived such long exposure to the elements, but I figure it’s fair to assume they’re there to commemorate that fortification.

Whatever the case, they make decent subjects for the camera.

Very beautiful composition and tones ! Nice details on cannons ! Strong shot !

I like the slightly menacing dark sky in conjunction with these ancient weapons of war; it makes for a rather moody interpretation.

gotta love old cannons … especially in this scene with those dramatic clouds

Cette image très bien cadrée me fait penser au film “les canons de Navarones”. Belles pièces dont j’aime beaucoup le cadrage en diagonale

You have captured a stormy and bellicose mood here, perfect for the subject!
