In amongst the forest of hexagonal columns was a tidal pool full of vibrantly coloured algae. In the overcast light and contrasted against the black basalt, the colours seemed to glow.
It took some waiting until I was able to get a shot without someone’s reflection in the pond. It is at those moments of waiting, when I’m in some awkward “photographer’s” pose, staring intently through the camera for several minutes, hardly daring to breath, that I think people around must be looking at me thinking “just take the photo already!”. But it doesn’t work that way does it?
